Dr. Matthew Robinson, D.O. - Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine
Dr. Robinson began his education by completing his Bachelor’s of Science in Biochemistry at the University of California, at Davis. He then attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences, in Pomona, California. His internship and orthopaedic residency were completed at Botsford hospital, a Michigan state university site, in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Dr. Robinson then spent an additional year of specialized training at the University of Alabama, at Birmingham focusing on surgically treating the most severe and complex orthopaedic injuries. These injuries include pelvis and acetabular fractures, complex intra-articular fractures (shoulder, elbow, hip, knee, and ankle), scapula fractures, malunions and nonunions, post-traumatic arthritis, bone infections, and complex soft tissue injuries.
He recently moved to the Temecula area to help fill the need for a trauma-trained orthopaedist in the valley. In addition to his specialized trauma background, he is well trained in general orthopaedics. Dr. Robinson also treats arthritis, sports injuries, fractures, hand and shoulder injuries and foot and ankle problems. In caring for the majority of these conditions, non-operative modalities will first be exhausted before considering surgery. If and when operative management is indicated, Dr. Robinson performs joint replacements, arthroscopic surgery, repairs fractures, hand surgery, and foot and ankle surgery.
Concurrent with his private practice, Dr. Robinson is also involved with the teaching and training of orthopaedic residents at Riverside County Regional Medical Center. There, he participates in clinics, resident didactics, and operative instruction with all levels of residents.
On a personal note, Dr. Robinson was born and raised in Southern California. He has returned to his hometown, having grown up in the Temecula Valley. He went to Linfield High School and played Varsity football, baseball and basketball.
