Dr. Thomas W. Eck, MD

Profile:
Thomas W. Eck, M.D. is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in the medical and surgical management of eye disease, including cataract surgery, glaucoma, diabetic eye disease, and dry eye syndrome. He is excited to be joining the Eye Associates of Southern California family.

Dr. Eck attended college at Christ Church College in Oxford University and the College of New Jersey, where he graduated summa cum laude. He went to Rutgers University/New Jersey Medical School, where he graduated Alpha Omega Alpha at the top of his class. He completed his internship year at Yale Medical School and his ophthalmology residency at Washington University in St. Louis, perennially ranked as one of the top ophthalmology programs in the country.

Dr. Eck consistently obtained 99th percentile marks on American Board of Ophthalmology OKAP exams.

Dr. Eck’s treatment philosophy is to treat each and every patient with the same personalized attention and care as he would his own family member. He believes in patient empowerment and believes that the ophthalmologist and patient are a team with the shared goal of maximizing vision and quality of life.

Although he was born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Eck is proud to call Southern California home. His hobbies include running, being outside in the California sunshine, learning foreign languages, and traveling with friends and family. He is fluent in Spanish and French.
